About Hear In Gainesville
Welcome music fans and Gainesville residents. If you’re reading this blog it probably means that you’re a passionate follower of the many musical exploits that our little town has to offer, either past or present. If you aren’t familiar with Gainesville’s music scene then you’ve certainly come to the right place. Hear in Gainesville will continually provide access to the musicians that make this town not only one of the most eclectic and expansive cultural cities in Florida, but the entire Southeast. I’ll provide interviews, photos and tracks with passionate local artists who live, eat and breathe to be heard. Hear in Gainesville will be the voice for those artists off the stage. My contributors and I will also keep you up to date with show schedules, album reviews, music news and trends going on in and around the Gainesville community. I’ve been covering music in this town for almost two years as a columnist for The Gainesville Sun, but this blog is the outlet to really dig deep, and give our scene the unrestricted attention it deserves. No deadlines. No space constraints. No stone will be left unturned, no genre untouched.Hear is Gainesville is dedicated to expanding your musical experience and showcasing the strong cultural fabric that has shaped this town since the likes of Tom Petty, The Allman Brothers, Stephen Stills, Bo Diddley, Less Than Jake, Hot Water Music and Against Me! graced our stages.
As always at Hear in Gainesville our ears are always open, so please feel free to comment with story suggestions, feedback, photos or video from local shows, or any other topic you feel we need to post.
